A letter, 1946 November 30, to Professor J. M. Carrière of the University of Virginia, informs him of the decision of the Université Laval in Quebec to grant him an honorary Doctorate for his eminent linguistic skills and dedication to teaching French in the United States. With the letter are two copies of "Le Soleil," a newspaper in Quebec, dating January 14 and 15, 1947. Both contain articles concerning the honorary Doctorate awarded to Professor J. M. Carrière.
